Accountant, Based in Brunei

Job Responsibilities

  • You shall prepare and provide accurate and timely monthly financial statements; accounts reporting; management reporting and analysis to the Management.
  • You will ensure all month-end and ad-hoc reporting for the Brunei entity is submitted to the Group within the timelines set
  • Ensure integrity of the balance sheet, all provisions are supported by analysis and accounts are reconciled monthly
  • Research and ensure all discrepancies are reconciled.
  • Prepare creditors reconciliation and liaise with suppliers on the disputed item and ensure all disputed balance are resolved promptly before payment is arranged.
  • Review and ensure monthly expenses claim for onshore and offshore crew comply with Company policies, and submit claims reports for Management’s final approval for reimbursements.
  • Liaise and work closely with tax consultants, auditors, regulators, corporate secretary, banker and any other external government bodies with regards to any Brunei office Accounts/Finance matters.
  • Provide any other ad-hoc support and duties as and when required and assigned by the Company

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Degree/ Professional Qualification in Accountancy (eg. ACCA) with at least 5 years of relevant post-qualification working experience
  • Solid functional background in General Ledger Accounting.
  • Has strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Independent and hands-on and efficient
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast paced environment
  • Proficiency in SAP is preferred
